Service Description
The Magic Door™ is a six-week confidence and mindset programme created especially for young performers aged 9–16, combining powerful mindset techniques with practical elements of singing, dancing and acting. At its heart, The Magic Door™ helps young people understand how their thoughts can affect the way they feel, behave and perform. Students will explore mindset techniques creatively through music, movement, acting, storytelling and performance. Each week will combine vocal and physical training with the all-important mental warm-up. Through carefully designed performance exercises, students will learn how to manage nerves, quieten self-doubt, develop resilience and build genuine confidence from within. Students will explore acting through song, movement, character and ensemble work in a supportive environment where they are encouraged to be brave, take creative risks and step outside their comfort zones. Throughout the programme, we will explore the thoughts and feelings that can arise before an audition or performance. Students will begin to recognise the difference between a fixed and growth mindset, understand their inner critic and discover how their thoughts can influence the way they feel and perform. Using creative exercises, affirmations, gratitude and visualisation, students will be introduced to The Magic Door™ technique—helping them move away from fear, worry and “what if?” thinking and towards confidence, courage and self-belief. Across the six weeks, the group will bring everything they have learned together to create a performance exploring confidence, mindset, courage and growth through singing, movement and storytelling. The programme will culminate in a final showcase for family and friends on Sunday 18 October. The Magic Door™ is about so much more than learning how to perform. It is about helping young people understand that confidence is not something you are simply born with—it is something you can build. Students will leave with practical tools they can carry into auditions, rehearsals, performances and everyday life, helping them step into the room believing they belong. Because the strongest performance starts long before you step into the room.
